Danielle Palardy Roger is a composer, percussionist, and improviser. Active in the Montreal musique actuelle scene since 1980, she has been a member of many improvisational ensembles and projects including JUSTINE, WONDEUR BRASS, Les Poules, don’t Double-Sens and Flammèches. She has toured to international festivals: The Ring Festival (Belgrade), The New-York International Festival of the Arts, and Canada Nouveau Festival (London). Her compositional credits include commissions for l'Ensemble contemporain de Montréal and MuséePointe-à-Callière. Roger is also the artistic director of Productions SuperMusique (Montreal).

During her residency at the Western Front, Roger will be composing a new work for choir and chamber ensemble. The Heart Noises, a 50 minute sonic poem, is scheduled to premiere in Montreal in 2004. Vocalists Christopher Butterfield, Kate Hammett Vaughan, Peter Hurst, & DB Boyko will join Roger in a web performance of this work-in-progress for the Ars Electronica Festival.
